Dick and Hannah:
I ask that the LWV NM consider what better gun laws are needed in New Mexico.
There are just far too many shootings.
Connecticut has a law which limits sales of hand guns to people 21 and older.
George Richmond
A big thank you to each of you for offering your time and knowledge to strengthen political redistricting in New Mexico. Yesterday, at the CRC meeting at the Santa Claran Hotel and Casino, Chairman Chavez announced the Citizen Redistricting Committee dates, times, and locations for round 2 of public input meetings for statewide political districts. We hope that you will continue to participate and ask your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. Will you help spread the word?
We had over 1,000 New Mexicans participate in-person or on-line during the first round of meetings and almost 100 people gave public testimony. If people are interested in sharing input, there are still many ways to contribute testimony on-line and in person. . Submit a Public Comment or Map - New Mexico Citizens Redistricting Committee (nmredistricting.org) We’ve been told from the team at Tufts University that the new Census data will be in DistrictR this Wednesday. This gives communities the tools to draw and submit maps as testimony to the Citizen Redistricting Community about how you think political districts should be drawn to best represent your community.
