I should think LWV would at least partially support HB 17, EXPAND RURAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER TAX CREDIT.
https://www.nmlegis.gov/Legislation/Legislation?chamber=H&legType=B&legNo=17&year=22

Bills like it have been around for years, attempting to help lure health care providers to outlying areas of the state.  The most recent didn't pass, but it's still a good idea, though its effect would be limited.  The really stupid thing about this bill, though, is that it leaves out Doctors of Oriental Medicine and Doctors of Chiropractic-- while including art therapists, who, while they're great, aren't a large part of the state health care system!  Our two professions are working on talking with Rep. Garcia about this.

Entities within state government are working to reduce opioid dependence and deaths, and supporting (with lip service at least) other ways of treating pain.  Acupuncture and chiropractic are definitely on the list and very visible to the health department.  Yet some practical ways to increase utilization aren't happening as yet.  This is frankly stupid, but everything in health care seems to be complicated.

Thank you for all you do,

Elene Gusch, DOM

I think we can support these bills: HB 11, 14, 34
and the Senate bills for electric vehicle tax credit, reforestation,
primary ballot, solar market development tax credit.

At our legislative preview tonight our three legislators (Rep. Chandler,
Sen Gonzales and Sen Jaramillo) expressed satisfaction with the Citizen
Redistricting Committee.  Rep Chandler said that she cannot commit to
support the IRC bill until she sees how the commission members will be
appointed.  The senators agreed.
