I'm going to plagiarize LWVSNM priorities & suggest they are added to Environment/Water:
· Restore personnel in the state’s water agencies to implement the 2023 Water Security Planning Act.
· Provide additional funds to the state’s agencies under the Water Data Act of 2019 and for aquifer mapping by the Bureau of Geology & Mineral Resources.
· Fund loans/grants to initiate collaborative regional water planning efforts to protect our declining aquifers and stream systems
Dick, I hope that environmental legislation, especially re water resources, gets major attention by the legislature and by LWVNM. I understand that water will be on the governor’s call.
