On Monday August 19th, the application period began for the much anticipated Keeping Families Together program for certain spouses and children of U.S. citizens, a program first announced by President Biden on June 18th that will ease the pathway to adjust status and help keep families together.

On day 1, our members hit the ground running with legal workshops, info sessions, digital tools, and celebration. NPNA was founded to help implement immigration solutions like these that provide an on-ramp for eligible immigrants to begin the process of unlocking their pathway to more permanent relief. We applaud the Biden-Harris administration's effort to keep families together and eliminate barriers for thousands of mixed status families, who previously would have to be separated from their families for months or years at a time awaiting consular appointments abroad to begin the process of adjusting status.

NPNA, together with field partners through the Ready to Stay coalition, will hold field webinars, develop and share resources, and curate events to best support implementation and coordination. Tomorrow, August 21st at 2:00 PM Eastern, is the next field webinar, Implementing Parole in Place (PiP) for Spouses of U.S. Citizens: Deep Dive & Updates. Register Here.

If your organization has upcoming Parole in Place events, please share them here to be added to the list of events taking place across the country.
The Keeping Families Together program is a welcome step in the right direction, offering humane solutions to our outdated immigration system that harms families and puts up barriers for individuals to adjust their status. Poll after poll shows that Americans want to see more of this – viable, humane, and accessible immigration solutions to preserve family unity and provide pathways to citizenship for all. Today we celebrate, and remain steadfast in our commitment to advocating for full protections for all.
