HB593, the dummy bill Dick mentioned at the Action meeting last night, was tabled in HHHC this morning, mostly because of the medical malpractice parts.

It was a catch-all bill combining a lot of the various medical bills already filed, like loan repayment tax credits, cost studies and medical malpractice changes.

Many people spoke against it because of the caps on malpractice awards, and ultimately it was tabled, mostly for that reason. (I didn't speak for the League, having not seen any details on the bill prior to the committee meeting.)
