We watched in slow motion several very important bills die from lack of attention as legislators frittered away the time. Vetoing the white flour tortilla as the state bread sent a strong message and was the right thing to do even though the governor clearly respects the student’s effort. We only have her for one more year -possibly a special session and a budget session.
She wants to enact more gun safety measures and Paid Family Medical Leave before her term ends.
Hope legislators will read her letter carefully and listen deeply and commit to time management and prioritization!
Too much time is wasted each session. We saw what could get accomplished quickly in the last week or so, even with the hours of filibustering. We’ve witnessed the pattern over and over again. Basta!
