I spoke to our county clerk on Thursday. He thanked me for our plans to register voters. By the way, we never "hand out" voter registration forms. Potential voters must fill them out and sign them in front of us and then WE hand them in to the clerk's office. The county clerk's office attends the naturalization ceremonies to register new voters. (We are present as well.)It is expected that our new motor voter law will reduce the number of people who need to register or update their registrations at the farmers' market, etc.BarbaraOn Sat, Aug 30, 2025 at 12:35 AM Judy Williams via Action <action@mailman.swcp.com> wrote:Yes it is. I assume similar messages are being sent to other League groups. We would give out voter registration forms and other information about voting to the naturalized citizens at these events.Trish
I appreciate your teams’ services after each of our Naturalization Ceremonies. It is with great disappointment that that I must inform you that we (Portland Field Office) are no longer be able to accommodate the League of Women Voters organization in any of our upcoming ceremonies effective immediately. This includes the in office as well as all the offsite ceremonies. I wish you all well in your continued efforts. Thank you for your time and understanding.
Respectfully
