I can't believe summer is coming to an end. Wow, it seems like yesterday was Memorial Day! Well, it occurs to me that perhaps you all should get an update on Rio Chama flows as the Labor Day weekend approaches. Here's the plan.
The release out of El Vado should be increasing to 600 cfs today and will run that way through late Sunday morning. The release will then be at about 400 cfs next week.
The release will go back up to 600 on Friday Aug. 29. It will stay at 600 until the morning of Tuesday Sept. 2 when it will drop down to about 300 for that week.
The release will go back up to 600 starting on Friday Sept. 5. As of this moment, the plan is to run at 600 for several days after that (we're hoping a week) until the rest of the water that needs to be moved gets down to Abiquiu.
After that, flow will be completely dependent on whether there is need to release supplemental water for the Rio Grande silvery minnow. Hope you all enjoy what is left of Summer 2014. You can always call me or e-mail me with questions.
