Gila Action Update – Important dates and action you can take
November 6, 2014
The support of the AWC board for the effort to save the Gila is phenomenal. They are sponsoring a screening of DAMNATION in Albuquerque (date not yet determined), written and signed letters on behalf of the AWC to the Governor and the ISC Commissioners.
Nov 10 - ISC Informational Meeting (starts 10:20 am) Sign Holding & Rally 8-9am
The judge issued a temporary restraining order (TRO)
allowing informational meetings only (more below from the GCC).
Nov 10 from 8-9am - The GCC is organizing a sign holding for the Commissioners and staff to enjoy as they arrive at the meeting.
Signs & a huge banner at the site on San Antonio. There is good, easy parking.

· Take Exit 231 off of I-25 N toward San Antonio Ave/Ellison Road.
· Merge onto Pan American East Fwy NE/Frontage Rd N.
· Turn right onto San Antonio Dr NE.
· 5550 San Antonio Dr NE is on the Right.
These events are really fun, come if you can- for some or all!!
Lunchtime rally by the GCC will be held outside the building. (BYO lunch)
Norm will be rallying the crowd, us.
Jim and Peter are presenting the results of their modeling - afternoon session.
Nov 12 – Santa Fe District Judge Ortiz is conducting a bench trial in consideration of an injunction. The trial will last all day. Come to Santa Fe to watch them squirm.
Nov 14- On Friday, November 14, the ISC will be in Silver City at the Grant Co. Administration Building and allow limited public input on the AWSA alternatives. According to the agenda, there will only be 2 hours of public comment tightly controlled by comment for/against diversion or related to non-diversion alternatives.
