The plan, as always, is to hold the clinic in Durango on the Animas. If for some reason the snow pack & river levels really change the remote possibility exists that we would hold it on the San Juan, an hour away, but in the 3 previous clinics this has never happened.
The cost will be $208 per person with a $15 discount for existing AWC members and a $5 discount if you are an ACA member and you email me your ACA member card or bring it to the clinic.
This year there is a $104 deposit (payable to the Adobe Whitewater Club), refundable if you cancel at least two weeks in advance. I had some problems last year with last minute cancellations and the club lost money on the clinic. I've had 6 verbal commitments so far, and there's space for 10 people.
Kent asked what people want to work on and I've had the following responses(Hopefully I didn't miss any):
- Power & acceleration
- Outfitting/rigging
- High & low braces
- bow/stern coordination in shorter boats (looks like we'll have 2 tandem boats, rest solo)
- Getting better at strokes Kent's already taught in real river situations
I'll post it to the club website soon.
