On Friday evening DCW will place a ghost bike for Michale.  He was hit while cycling on June 6.  He passed away because of the injuries he sustained on June 14, 2014.

Family and friends will gather earlier on Friday for a Memorial service.  The request was made to DCW to place the ghost bike Friday because people will be gathered in Albuquerque from out of town.  The time of day will be similar to the time of the crash, same day of the week too.  These are all things that are meaningful for the family.

Cyclists and those concerned about traffic safety in general are invited.  Please pass this email on to others who might want to come.

The attached map depicts the general area where Wolff was hit. The area near Sandia Trailer Sales is where we will park and consult with Wolff's family to determine the exact place for the ghost bike.  There is a small memorial already at the crash site, but it isn't visible from the road.  Sandia Trailer Sales is just east of highway 217 on Old Route 66.

Because Bernalillo County Sheriff's Officers did a good job of investigating this crash, the driver of the car that struck Wolff has been found and charged.  This development in the case is encouraging and I personally feel that is a very positive step.

Sometimes it feels like an unattainable goal, to see improved traffic safety in the greater Albuquerque area.  No one is perfect, but striving to be a good driver, no matter what vehicle you're using, is a goal we all can attain.

Go safely,

Jennifer
