Travis Dixon sustained a head injury many years back and had the same problem. He eventually figured out that he had to ride at a fairly low heart rate to avoid the headache. I remember less that 150 or so. He had to do this for many months before being able to ride hard again.

Maybe this would work for you? Are you able to chill?

Subject: [NMCycling] High Blood Pressure, Exercise Headaches and Cycling. Feedback

Hi,

I took a fall this summer and sustained a concussion.  Since then I have had high blood pressure and am just beginning the initial treatment for it.  But worse yet is that in the last month I have developed extreme headaches after I bike.  They can last up to 48 hours and my BP usually spikes.

I have had all the tests, including in MRI, and they have come back negative.

What I am wondering is, are there people out there who have high BP and are able to cycle?  And has anyone had exercise headaches?  If so, what brought them on and what did you do about them?

I appreciate any feedback, especially because I haven't ridden in a month and am starting to go crazy.

Thanks,
Ben
