this is a newer product that might help in many cases without the aggressor issue being included.

Agreed. To amplify, Bob Mionski - Legally Speaking - makes the point about how a camera can work against you. It'll record "those five stop signs you burned through and that red light you ignored", which could easily turn you from the victim to the aggressor.

Fyi, Bob spent a summer here in the 90's and has quite a resume: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Mionske#Palmar.C3.A8s

The guy in the car could get off with a good lawyer simply because some courts might considered him the aggressor by flipping off the driver.

I'm not a lawyer but I like to read and I always enjoy "legally speaking".    Really good book to read which is based on Concealed Carry is The Law of Self Defense.  All kinds of interesting stuff on Thresholds, Principle of Avoidance, and Proportionality, which if you like to use aggressive language or gestures after someone nearly kills you, you should probably read.

All,

I've been commuting daily with this trick bit of kit running:  https://cycliq.com/product/fly6

works about as claimed, high quality video and audio recorded, and a good rear light.   They have a new front light rig too now.

Will also point out Velo News has a regular column, "legally speaking" that helps understand what we should can expect w the law.   Here's one on video cameras in particular:  http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/03/news/road/legally-speaking-bob-mionske-riding-video-cameras_363668

Good news (to me) is law enforcement is willing to act on evidence that cameras can record.   Note to self is to cut out beating on roofs and windows to cue a too close driver - my behavior's on record too!

Ride hard, ride safe - Congrats to Lobo velomen and women!
