Lindsay

That’s great news.  We ( NM Devo) are starting a discussion with Albq HS to see about starting a team at AHS, ( already have 2 AHS guys riding on NM Devo)

We share your thoughts of more NM HS teams to follow to  be able to form a NM League.

Way to go!

Jeff

Subject: [NMCycling] Fwd: Time to SIGN UP for the Taos Area High School Mountain Bike Team!

Exciting news for cycling in our state!!

New Mexico's very FIRST high school mountain bike team, seeking members now. Although the team is based in Taos, any high school aged mountain biker in NORTHERN New Mexico can sign up. Will be racing in the Colorado high school league until more teams start in New Mexico...hint hint....start a team!

See below for details and contact info. And kudos to Susie Fiore, Carl Colonius, and Michael Wagener for leading the movement (hopefully)!

The new Taos Area High School Mountain Bike Team is ready to get rolling. This is a "composite" team so we can accept riders from across the region (loosely defined as Northern New Mexico). Any high school student is welcome. Coaches are trained and experienced.

Our team is licensed and insured as part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. Check out their website for more info. We believe strongly in the NICA Core Values and are super excited to be part of something BIG. We are part of the Southern Colorado League and will participate in up to 5 races during the fall season.

Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays after school plus a group ride on Sundays. We are all about inclusivity. Any rider. Any pace. Scholarships available. Busy schedules accommodated. Fun promised.

INTERESTED RIDERS and PARENTS can click HERE to download and print more info including a parent letter, schedule and how to join.

When you are ready to join up, the following are the links to all necessary paperwork (registration forms, waiver, and "things to know") that needs to be printed and completed.
