I have had several requests for a tour of some of the past, present and future Bernalillo County projects that involve bicycle facilities. As a first try, I can meet any folks that are interested on Wednesday, August 26th at 4 PM on the Bosque Trail just north of Bridge at the parking area. I am sorry GABAC members, I  had to move the ride to Wednesday as I have a Sunport Extension public meeting on Thursday.

We will do a loop that includes:

·        Bosque Trail Repaving/Bridge to 2nd & Woodward (past)

·        Sunport/Woodward connection to east of I-25 (future…if the projects clear the environmental phase of project development see http://www.bernco.gov/public-works/current-past-projects.aspx for info)

·        Buffered Bike Lanes on Goff Rd (just finished)

·        Bridge Project - potential Cycle Track location and other improvements within a very limited Right-of-Way (future)

I figure we can talk about the specifics of the facilities and why certain decisions were made along with getting input on what worked and what could be done better. It is about a 10 mile loop and will of course be a no drop/unofficial ride.

Let me know if you are thinking about participating and I can send you the route map. Please forward to anyone who might be interested.

I would be happy to do more tours throughout the County or at different times if there is interest.

Thanks
