I can no longer get on the FOO list. Would one of you be kind enough to send out the following:

Petroglyph National Monument Visitor Use Management Plan and Public Comment Period

Petroglyph Natl. Monument is revising their user plan. Currently there are too many user built trails and paths that have accumulated over the years. Petroglyph National Monument is looking to create an official 45 mile trail system that would secure federal funding and financial assistance for years to come. This is a good way to continue to improve this area and maintain well built and sustainable trails.

Currently, mountain bikers are allowed in this area, but that could change. The Monument management needs our feedback to insure that there will be continued access for bikes within the Monument. Draft Management Concept #2 is the multi-use option that includes mountain bikes.

This would be the only official, maintained trail system on the West side of Albuquerque
·A trail system would help preserve Monument artifacts
·Future user conflict would be reduced as thousands of new homes are planned to be built adjacent to the Monument
·More trails mean more mountain bikers coming to Albuquerque
According to STRAVA, mountain bikes are currently the largest number of users of these trails

Please go to the following website to give input and show your support for this project because more bike trails are better than no bike trails. This is a case where every voice counts so spread the word and get all your riding buddies to show support for mountain biking in Petroglyph National Monument.
