Update from the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic

Dear 2020 Iron Horse Bicycle Classic Registrant:

First and foremost, we hope you and your family are staying healthy and navigating these challenging times to the best of your ability.

We wanted to provide an update on the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic, which is scheduled to be held May 22-24, 2020 (Memorial Day Weekend). We have been keeping informed with the changes to policies, procedures, and trends in response to the COVID 19 pandemic that is gripping our communities.

Based on guidance and input from local and state authorities, sponsors, and supporters, as well as the escalating nature and undetermined timeline for response and resolution of the pandemic, we are postponing the 2020 Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. The date for postponement is to be determined as we feel the current state of change in our communities is much too fluid to set a firm timeline. Our hope is an early fall timeframe.
The IHBC has held bicycle-racing events in Durango on Memorial Day Weekend for the past 48 years. This postponement is significant in the history of the event, and a decision we do not take lightly.  At this time, the health and safety of our participants and the communities that make up our ridership are paramount in this decision.

We have every intention to hold a 2020 event and hold true to our 48-year cycling tradition.

We will continue to communicate with registered riders via email and social media. By the end of April, we’ll provide an update on postponement details, as more information on COVID 19 emerges.

If you ordered merchandise, we’ll ship it to you as soon as possible to the address you provided during registration. We’ll send an email including a tracking number at that time.

Thank you, as always, for your support, and for being a part of our IHBC community.

Sincerely,
Gaige Sippy
