ABQ cyclists,
Duke City Wheelmen wanted to report back on the amazing success of the bike swap held March 20th.  With the support of the cycling community of Albuquerque $1250.00 dollars was donated to each of the two organizations supporting the people of Ukraine mentioned previously.  These organizations are:

A representative from Razome for Ukraine said, in part, "Please allow me to express the deepest gratitude from everyone at Razom for your kind support. And thank you for your trust in us."

Global Empowerment Mission

The email I received from a Global Empowerment Mission representative said, in part, "Your donation allows us to assist the fleeing people of Ukraine as they seek shelter and security. Your donation allows us to send aid, support, as well as relocation services for tens of thousands as the refugees find themselves displaced in the surrounding countries after leaving their homes behind."

Duke City Wheelmen also is donating $500.00 to the performers and theater managers in Lviv at Kurbasy Theater who are now sheltering Ukrainians who have fled other parts of Ukraine.

This support is being sent through AMP Concerts, as they had contact with Kurbasy performers who performed here in Albuquerque in 2018.

In addition, one cyclist who didn't come out to the swap told me that they donated $500.00 to one of these organizations because the swap prompted them to action!  There were a couple of other folks who couldn't come, but mailed a check.

Personally, I am so grateful for the way the cycling community supported the swap and the amazing assistance from the Duke City Wheelmen & Trek teams that made the whole thing possible.

with deep gratitude,
Jennifer Buntz
