Hi there folks on the list.

So, many of you all may not be aware but this weekend New Mexico lost one of it's shining stars.

Forgive me as I may not have the details fully correct, as I was out of town this weekend.
I am posting this as I have not seen anything in the news or on this list serve.

At Day of the Tread one of the long time New Mexico cyclists suffered a "cardiac event" and ended up passing.
Tony Byatt who was 66 a New Mexico native, graduate of Albuquerque Academy and UNM, who participated in cycling events
here in NM as well as being prominent in the Florida Cycling scene where he lived for 20 years.  Tony had just moved
back to NM a few years ago and had been active in competing at Masters Track cycling events both on the National a
World scene.   Tony had just competed at Masters Track Worlds a few weeks ago where he got a bronze medal as
his highest placing.

Just be aware that he was a 'Healthy and Fit" individual who still suffered a tragic cardiac episode.   NONE of us
are immune to that.

I have not heard any details about arrangements yet.

George Tapley
