Dear ZiaVelo Community, New Mexico/SW Texas Road racers, and AZBRA friends,
We have some exciting news to share. NM Bicycle Racing Association (NMBRA) had been trying to find a good location for the 2024 State RR. ZiaVelo was approached and after some planning we decided to take on the opportunity. The race will be in Hillsboro on Sunday October 13th starting at 10 a.m. So, come on down to Silver City and enjoy the Gila Monster Fondo (
GILA) and come on over to Hillsboro on your way back home on Sunday to race for a State Championship.
The course leaves Hillsboro and goes out toward Lake Valley (16 or 26 miles) and then returns back to Hillsboro and finishes about two miles out of town at the Percha overlook location. This classics style course should provide an opportunity for many styles of racers (not just the mountain goats going up to Kingston or Emory Pass). So, come out and play.
REGISTRATION (Thanks to Dave Halliburton
organizer extraordinaire for the BikeReg set-up). The cost is $50 and Juniors get a discount at the second stage of registration (at category selection).
NMBRA has provided some commitments to provide volunteers and as usual we can always use more to support those who would like to participate. If you would like to volunteer at the finish line, in town, at one of two turnaround locations, or in a follow car please go to this link and let us know (
VOLUNTEER). This volunteer opportunity is open to anyone in the NMBRA family and their friends and family.
Please reach out and ask any questions and we will try to answer anything that is not clear on the flyer or on
bikereg.com or the USAC site.
Looking forward to seeing you on the 13th
ZiaVelo
