If you follow our instagram, website, or saw on the NM Cycling calendar you may have seen that we were finally able to find a location for the crits this year! We were planning and had announced that we would be kicking off the season today, April 8th, but unfortunately the new course isn't safe enough to race on yet. We had toured the lot where we will be racing a few weeks ago and our initial assessment was that it was good but messy. My co-organizer and I had some travelling in the following weeks and we weren't able to get back out to the course until very recently and while assessing it discovered that it was in worse shape than we originally thought. After working on it for a few hours yesterday we decided to postpone the races until next week so we can ensure that the course is safe for everyone. 

We put out a call on our instagram for volunteers to come and help us sweep the course today during the time we would normally be racing. We have to patch some of the asphalt as well but the majority of the work is removing debris, gravel, and dirt. If anyone is interested in racing this year and would like to come help, please let me know. If you have a push broom that would be helpful as well as we only have 2.
