The new home we thought would work for the Santana Tandem won’t, so the bike is still available. Here’s our original description:
Heidi and I have a 1980’s era Santana Tandem (most like their Sovereign model) that we haven’t ridden in decades. It’s a large/medium chromoly frame (sky blue), triple chain rings, 5 speed
freewheel. Cantilever brakes, rear drum brake. 27” wheels/tires (wheels good, tires need replacement). It is in good/great shape but dusty.
We’d like to gift it to someone in the NM cycling community who wants to try out tandem riding before purchasing a modern bike, or who like vintage rides.
We had many great rides on the bike – the most memorable was a 2 night/3 day loaded tour from Fort Collins over Cameron Pass, south over Willow Creek Pass around Granby Lakes then over Trail Ridge Road back to
Fort Collins. 300+ miles & 22,000 ft of climbing with old school camping / touring gear. We were young then….
