WE NEED YOU! —
LWVCNM Candidate Forum Training — Saturday, July 23, 2022
Hello League members! I am belatedly letting you all know that on
SATURDAY, JULY 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. we will be hosting a training for members interested in volunteering to staff candidate forums in the future.
As you know, the League has long conducted candidate forums that are an excellent way to share with voters information about the candidates for political office at the federal,
state and local levels. These League-conducted forums go a long way towards enhancing the League’s reputation for nonpartisanship.
Protecting the League’s
reputation is first and foremost in conducting these candidate forums. Volunteers
must be trained before they are assigned to staff a forum and hold themselves out at these forums as League of Women Voters members.
To that end, we are finally (thanks to my procrastination, and Covid) holding a training for League members who would like to add candidate forums to their list of volunteer
opportunities. Currently, our stable of forum volunteers is thinning, and we selfishly need to add you to our list. I guarantee that your experience staffing candidate forums will be rewarding and FUN!
We will
TRAIN members in three areas, each of which are critical to the success of every candidate forum:
** moderating
** timekeeping
** question organizing
Please join us, in-person at the LWVCNM office OR via Zoom, at our upcoming training.
SATURDAY, JULY 23, 2022
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
(in-person) 6739 Academy Rd NE, Suite 124, Albuquerque
