Day of free programs at the New International District Library in Albuquerque, including a Chautauqua presentation of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and a panel discussion on how the Constitution set up inherent tensions among the branches of government.

2 pm "The Notorious RBG" with Dr. Dianne R. Layden
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away in September 2020, is celebrated for her work as an attorney, federal judge, and Supreme Court justice, notably on behalf of gender equality. Her life will be presented in both a lecture and Chautauqua portrayal that include her judicial opinions, family life, and reverence for opera.

3:30 pm Inherent Tension
UNM Law librarian Jennifer Laws moderates a discussion among eminent Constitutional scholars Professor Vinay Harpalani and Professor John Kang, as well as former New Mexico State Senator, Dede Feldman.

Both programs will be livestreamed, and questions from the audience will be welcome. The panel discussion will be recorded and shared on YouTube after the event.

 

Enjoy complimentary refreshments outside the library following each program, and free pocket Constitutions.
