From: Dianne Layden <dlayden@earthlink.net>
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I will perform my Ruth Bader Ginsburg Chautauqua in Albuquerque as part of a Constitution Day celebration on Saturday, September 17, 2:00 PM, at the new International District Library, 7601 Central Ave. NE, .3 mile east of Louisiana. My portrayal will be followed by a panel discussion of the Constitution. This free event is sponsored by the New Mexico Humanities Council.
DEFINITION: What,exactly, is a Chautauqua?*
Chautauqua is a living history program in which performers, in costume and in character, bring historical figures to life in theatrical monologues. Educational and entertaining, Chautauqua programs provide dramatic insights into the people and events that have shaped our nation [history in general], and . . . a historical lens for looking at contemporary issues.
