The 2026 Legislative Session begins this Tuesday, January 20 (and ends on February 19).

How should the New Mexico Legislature address the water crisis? Find out at the New Mexico Water Advocates meeting on January 22. Register here.

The Drop-In Coffee is this Saturday, January 24, from 10 AM to noon in the conference room. Volunteering for Voter Guide work will be one of the topics of discussion.

The next LWVCNM Book Club session is on January 28 at 5:30. The book is The Line Becomes A River – Dispatches from the Border by Francisco Cantú.

The LWVNM League Legislative reception is January 29th from 5:30 to 7:30 at La Fonda in Santa Fe. Speaker: Laura Paskus on Water Issues in New Mexico.

League Day at the Legislature is January 30th.

10:30– 11:15 Richard Anklam – President & Executive Director, NM Tax Research Institute, “Budget and Tax issues in the 2026 session”
11:15 – 12:00 Kristina Fisher – Associate Director, Think New Mexico, “Health Care Compacts in the 2026 session”
