I'll weigh in on this one.  Kitt has been a very responsible business owner in Nob Hill for many years.  Tam and I have been going there since at least 2006.  He's always served beer and wine at his sushi bar, and presumably he needs this new license for his expansion Korean BBQ he constructed during the pandemic.  Even when the Governor's health order allowed limited inside dining, Kitt kept doing takeout only because he didn't feel he could serve customers safely or keep his workers safe in his small space.  Now with his larger space, he has started some inside seating.  Kitt's business is certainly one that Nob Hill should support.  
I am in favor of his application.  And his Godzilla roll.

Our association has received the attached application for Restaurant Beer and Wine License with on premise consumption only including request for a waiver as the premise is within 300 ft. of a church (Calvary Church), Application No. 1170674 at 3015, 3017, 3019 Central Ave NE. The CABQ Alcohol Hearing Officer will hear the request on Nov 18, 2020. Comments can be accepted by donna at cabq.gov until 72 hours before the hearing.

When your association learns of a liquor license application we contact the applicant to gather information. We pass this to our email list to gather neighborhood input. If neighbors express questions or concerns we seek further information. We invite you to reply to all if you have a position on this request.

·Operators of the business: Kitt Poolsawas; from 2017-2020 the name of the operator was Wafflewhich LLC. It is now Crazy Fish NM LLC.

-Hours of operation: Monday-Thursday 11am-9:30pm, Friday 11am-10:00pm, Saturday 12pm-10pm, and Sunday 12pm-9:30pm 

·Measures the applicant plans relative to security: none planned

Attached is a call summary from APD for the addresses.

At 6:30 pm on Nov. 12 NHNA will evaluate input received. When input is neutral or positive we generally don’t develop an association position.  If input suggests strong concerns or directors have strong concerns we will call a special board meeting to explore an association position. We will notify the email list of this special meeting and all are welcome. 

At that meeting the board generally considers the expected impact on community safety and quality of life and factors including but not limited to calls for police service at applicant's operations and security plans. 

Hours of service and services offered are not generally part of the hearing officer’s consideration, but may affect the association’s position.

Locations near Residential Zone Districts (IDO 14-16-2-3) are problematic, particularly if affected neighbors oppose.

Naturally, neighbor input is crucial. 

We will notify the email list, the liquor hearing officer, and the applicant of the association’s action coming from such a special meeting. 

All members of the community are free to contact the applicant and to provide written comments to the hearing officer or attend the CABQ hearing in a personal capacity.
