Elizabeth I remember the time well. I was part of the group who wanted
the community center at that location and was very disappointed that it
didn’t happen. It would be nice if we could have a space to support our Nob
hill community events for kids families adults seniors. Maybe someday that
will come to fruition. I hope it’s in my lifetime.

Just a note: the property in question is indeed a long time site for food,
beer, wine….

The structural aspects of the property are not, in retrospect, ideal for a
community or a youth site. The fact is that the Jones

Motor Company was a car sales site and a car repair site that need much
work to bring to code for restaurant, imbibing etc.

Physical layout issues might have been worked out, but in case, an old
school building, a church property not on the main

drag would probably be more appropriate for such a site.

Tom Rutherford was the nix of the first proposal. If anyone has a longer
memory, this happened a few decades ago.

There was quite a lot of debate about the community site at the time. Gary:
these are my thoughts, not anyone else’s.

Dan sought my personal view about uses for the property.

Like OBC below I viewed the discussion about a youth center as an
aspiration.

I imagine we would all appreciate a youth center somewhere in our area.

But the property is privately owned and the owner or tenant is seeking
approval for a restaurant with beer, wine, and cocktails by the drink for
on premise consumption.

We are invited to express a position on that application to the Liquor
Hearing Examiner. So that’s all that’s on the table with this question.

I appreciate the many community members who have weighed in on the question
and also those who are using the question to explore other needs and
opportunities.

These are all useful.

I think a youth center was mentioned as a sort of aspirational goal- what
would I do if it was my building, or if I wanted to start a youth center.
I was not aware that any youth center had shown an interest in leasing the
building. I support the application of the business that apparently signed
the lease.

On The Fence. Both ideas sound great. Personally, would like to hear Gary
Eyster's Personal Opinion on both ideas since having a "Youth Center"
sounds amazing but also having an establishment where adults can relax at
the end of a long hard day is important as well. If the Youth Center
Proposal does not happen, then can it be somewhere else safe and secure
around our community in Nob Hill perhaps and would the City, State, and/or
Feds be able to support the idea?

Thanks,

Board and neighbors,

This family of restaurants has consistently provided quality food and
service to each neighborhood they have been a part of in the past.

They will be a welcome addition to Nob Hill and a great fit for this
historic property. Serving alcohol in their facility will pair very nicely
with their menu.

I look forward to seeing them open.

Nob Hill Friends and Neighbors*,*

*Our association has received the attached application*28028 for Dispenser
Liquor License at M’Tucci’s Bar-Roma in the 1939 Jones Motor Co. The CABQ
Alcohol Hearing Officer will hear the request on Oct. 14. Comments can be
accepted by donna at cabq.gov until 72 hours before the hearing.

When we learn of a liquor license application we contact the applicant to
gather information. We pass this to our email list to gather neighborhood
input. If neighbors express questions or concerns we seek further
information. We invite you to *reply to all *if you have a position on this
request. If you prefer you may reply totheboard at nobhill-nm.com

M’tucci’s 25, 4939 Pan American Frwy. NE, Albuquerque

-Food menu: The menu has not been finalized but will be similar to
offerings of our other restaurants. Core menu items will include home-made
pastas and sourdough pizzas. Roman specialties will include combinations of
meats, cheeses, breads and condiments

Alcoholic Beverage Offerings:broad selection of beers, wines and distilled
spirits for on-site consumption

-Hours of operation: 7 days a week, lunch, dinner and brunch. While subject
to change, hours of operation are anticipated to be from 11:00 AM until

-Measures applicant plans relative to security:As with our other
restaurants, the safety and enjoyment of our customers and employees is of
great concern and our highest priority. Other than installation of a
central monitored alarm system, security measures to be employed have not
yet been finalized. Each of our restaurants has different challenges and
security needs and we will implement a security plan that best fits the
needs of our restaurant premises, customers and guests.

*Attached is a call summary* from APD for the Albuquerque addresses. As
with other applications with locations in shopping centers not all of these
calls relate to M’Tucci’s. Those related to M’Tucci’s are highlighted.

When input is neutral or positive we generally don’t develop an association
position which results in approval by the Hearing Officer. If input
suggests strong concerns or directors have strong concerns we will call a
special board meeting to explore an association position. We will notify
the email list of this special meeting and all are welcome. *At 6:30 pm on
Oct. 7 the NHNA board will evaluate input received*.

*At that meeting the board generally considers the expected impact on
community safety and quality of life and factors including but not limited
to calls for police service at applicant's operations and security plans.*

Hours of service and services offered are not generally part of the hearing
officer’s consideration, but may affect the association’s position.

Locations near Residential Zone Districts (IDO 14-16-2-3) are problematic,
particularly if affected neighbors oppose.

*Naturally, neighbor input is crucial.*

*We will notify the email list, the liquor hearing officer, and the
applicant of the association’s action coming from such a special meeting. *

All members of the community are free to contact the applicant and to
provide written comments to the hearing officer or attend the CABQ hearing
in a personal capacity.
