Community Walks Explore Southwest Mesa Area and Offer Breakfast Burritos!

The Planning Department is hosting a series of Community Walks in various quadrants and neighborhoods across Albuquerque as part of their Community Planning Area  (CPA) Assessments, and the public is invited to attend! This month, the focus is the Southwest Mesa, and the Community Walks will take place every Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m., and free breakfast burritos will be on hand for all participants, courtesy of the West Central Community Development Group (WCCDG). The Community Walks will explore the areas surrounding the following locations in April:

*	Thursday, April 21, Central and Unser Library
*	Thursday, April 28, WCCDG Offices, 5921 Central SW

West Mesa Trail Master Plan Public Meeting This Tuesday

The City of Albuquerque is hosting a public meeting on the West Mesa Trail Master Plan on Tuesday, April 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the Open Space Visitors Center, 6500  Coors NW. The Plan intends to develop a conceptual trail network which will provide new recreational opportunities on open space lands surrounding Petroglyph National Monument and connect essential points of interests to surrounding communities. Development Review Board Streamlines Meeting Processes

The City’s Planning Department is continuing to take steps to improve the processes for reviewing development requests. Starting Wednesday, April 20, 2022 the Development Review Board (DRB) will split their weekly meetings into two sessions to better serve the community. Bernalillo County Announces Second Half Property Taxes Due

Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy Bearce reminds property owners the due date for the second half 2021 property tax bill was Monday, April 11, with payments delinquent after May 10.  Payments may be paid online, deposited in a county drop box (no postage required), or mailed and postmarked by May 10 to avoid any penalty and interest fees. Free Safety Assessments Offered to Residents and Businesses in Downtown Albuquerque

The Valley Area Command of the Albuquerque Police Department is offering residents and businesses a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) survey for homes or facilities located in and around the Albuquerque Downtown area. A CPTED is a free service offered by the Valley Area Command (and by all Area Commands citywide) in which Crime Prevention staff conduct a site visit and look for potential vulnerabilities on the exterior and interior of homes and businesses, and generate a report with recommendations on deterring crime.
