Kinda hard to say cause it’s bent over. Looks like a 556 or a 223 which are pretty much identical. Popular platform. Many types of guns shoot these. AR-15 probably.

Where was it found?

There was a report here recently about an individual who was shooting at hallucinations (and was taken for mental health, I believe). If it was in the same area, this would likely be a shell casing from that event.
