Pay for staff has gone up – a very good thing, and long overdue, but it does make it harder to start a business. And despite the rise in pay, there’s a shortage of people interested in those jobs. And then there’s the massive underlying problem of not enough housing in Albuquerque, especially affordable enough for people in those jobs. Most likely this building won’t be greatly affordable, but anything that contributes to ‘loosening things’ up can have some downward effect. All in all, I agree that this is modestly positive.

Thanks. Ya, it's gonna look out of place but if we want people to live, work, eat and play in this part of town, change is inevitable. I wish I knew for sure why we have so many empty store fronts still empty. Lease/rent can't be the only reason.

The property at the Southeast corner , it has the number 3300 on your map. They are planning a three story apartment complex with up to 40 units with the entrance on Wellesley and the exit on the alley. I think anything that large is out of character with the neighborhood.

Which property and what are they planning?

I think all of the neighbors should be informed of any changes to this property as it will definitely affect anyone living nearby as to the proposed multi-family multi-story plan for this property. It will affect traffic, parking etc. And it will be the tallest building in the neighborhood and it's the only property that has been zoned RMH, from Girard to Washington. This is an important change to the entire neighborhood and should be on the radar of everyone living in the Nob Hill area.
