With the scarcity of housing here and elsewhere, wouldn’t it be a good plan to build apartments to house more people?

>>> Here is the homework that needs to be done. Someone needs to find out when lots 3,4,5,6, got rezoned from R1 to R3 and was it done legally? I can't find that information on any of the sites. The reason it's so important is because the R3 zoning was the basis for redesignation to RMH in the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO) of 2018. The only thing I have been able to find is that in 2015 those lots had already been rezoned from R1 to R3(now RMH).
>>> Note, R1 is residential single family dwelling per lot, R3 is residential multi housing. How did this happen to lots 3,4,5,and6? Can you ask the Nob Hill Neighborhood Association if they can find that information? Our only hope to fight this is if there's any way we can challenge the rezoning of lots 3,4,5,and 6 from R1 to R3.

These excesses were and are premeditated with based on the past lack of enforcement of existing code restrictions. Multistory units are, theoretically and potentially, more energy efficient and environmentally sustainable. However, there must me absolute consideration of the impact on the social/cultural environment that makes Nob Hill the neighborhood that we all cherish. Don't be swayed by any deprecating and smarmy rhetoric presented by developers and their bureaucratic enablers.

It will affect traffic, parking etc. And it will be the tallest building in the neighborhood and it's the only property that has been zoned RMH, from Girard to Washington. This is an important change to the entire neighborhood and should be on the radar of everyone living in the Nob Hill area.
