Bike Thru 'Burque Week Coming Up in October!

Join the City in celebrating bicycling in the Albuquerque area during ¡Bike thru Burque! Week from October 8 – October 16. Whether you are exploring your neighborhood or nearby trail, visiting local businesses, or traveling to and from work, join the fun and win prizes by participating in biking activities throughout the week! Join in by committing to ride, participating in the team, individual, or kids’ riding challenge, proposing a ride for our crowdsourced map, and snapping photos for the scavenger hunt/photo contest. We’ll close out the week by riding in CiQlovía on October 16. ABQ RIDE Forward Network Plan Seeks Community Input On Transit Service

ABQ RIDE (the City’s Transit Department) is launching the ABQ RIDE Forward Network Plan to guide where bus routes run, how frequently, and on what hours and days. At this stage ABQ RIDE is looking for input on key underlying goals for transit service in Albuquerque. We would like to know if residents want to focus service on trying to get the most riders versus putting some service close to absolutely everyone in the city. Another question is when service should operate, which is nearly as important as where. We are looking to hear from both regular bus riders as well as people who are new to transit. Bernalillo County and Uber Offering "Take a Ride on Us" Through October 10

The “Take a Ride on Us” initiative, jointly hosted by Bernalillo County and Uber, is is offering 1,000 rides beginning on through Monday, October 10 at 3:00 a.m. Participants can use the code BALLOON22 to get the discount. Each code is good for 2 rides per person, $10 off per ride. The credit can only be used for rides, and not Uber Eats, and the discount doesn’t cover tip.

Internet Resource Fair Showcases Services To Help Families

The City's Department of Technology and Innovation (DTI) is hosting an Internet Resource Fair this Saturday, October 8 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the International District Library, 7601 Central NE. The Fair will showcase a wide variety of services and applications available to anyone, as well as sharing information about broadband availability for families. White Cane Awareness Day Encourages Community Participation To Learn About Visual Impairment Lifestyle

The Albuquerque Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind is hosting White Cane Awareness Day on Saturday, October 15 from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., at Jerry Cline Park, 7001 Constitution Ave NE and the public is invited and encouraged to attend. If someone you know lives with a visual impairment, or if you would simply like to understand more, this free community event is for you! Bring your family and friends and try a bit of Braille, pick up cooking tips and tricks, participate in assistive technology demos, and observe cane travel.
