As mentioned in a prior post last week, I have Basic Cable TV service with Comcast.  No bundle, no frills, no HBO, no sports package, just what is termed on my monthly bill as  basic cable TV service.  During the past thirty days or so Comcast has removed from my service  channel 47 (Spike - old movies), Channel 64 - TCM old movies) and, more recently, channel 19 which is a variety channel including older movies.  Needles to say, there has been no reduction in my monthly Comcast service fee of about $100, notwithstanding these 'improvements' in service.  I am ready to move away from the Comcast rip-off  but the question is, to where - which alternative TV cable provider?   I have looked at Direct TV which, compared to Comcast, does not seem too bad.  I am wondering if any fellow neighbors have been in my position, or had experience with Direct TV?  Would very much appreciate comments/recommendations.
