NATHAN EAST:  2016 AFME MUSIC AWARD RECIPIENT

 

AFME is honored to present NATHAN EAST with the 2016 AFME Music Award, presented in April by legendary trumpet player and fellow Yamaha artist Bobby Shew.

 

Nathan is a jazz, R&B, and rock bass player and vocalist. With more than 2,000 recordings, East is considered one of the most recorded bass players in the history of music. East has recorded, performed and co-written songs with Barry White, Anita Baker, The Love Unlimited Orchestra, Babyface, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Elton John, Laura Pausini, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Bryan Ferry, Savage Garden, Barbara Streisand, Sting, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau, Kenny Loggins, The Manhattan Transfer, Herbie Hancock, Daft Punk, and many more!

BETTINA GILOIS SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP

 

Bettina Gilois is an award-winning screenwriter and author whose nominations and awards include the Humanitas Prize, the Black Reelz Award, the Movieguide Award, the ESPY Award, and an Emmy Nomination for the HBO film "Bessie." After acquiring an art history degree from Columbia University and working at Andy Warhol's Factory, she began her writing career with Joel Silver and Warner Brothers.
