Dear Friends:   I'd like to invite you to my next Monthly neighborhood Luncheon on Wednesday, April 20th, noon-1:00pm, at McKinley Community Center, 3401 Monroe NE, behind McKinley Middle School. This month’s speaker is Christopher Celaya, Chief-Bernalillo County Fire & Rescue Department. Chief Celaya started his public service career with El Paso Emergency Medical Services in 1987 as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. In 1988, Celaya entered the fire academy.  Upon graduation he worked in various positons in the El Paso Fire Department until he retired in May of 2015.  In June 2015 he became the Chief of Fire and Rescue for the Bernalillo County Fire Department.   Although he has spent his entire career in firefighting, Chief Celaya also taught part-time for El Paso Community College and has worked as a contract employee for SEARCH group, teaching Incident Command level courses for the Department of Homeland Security across the country and Puerto Rico.  Celaya is a member in various organizations including the International Association of Firefighters, International Association of Fire Chiefs, National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, the National EMS Management Association, the National Fire Academy Alumni Association and the American Society for Public Administrators. Chief Celaya has been married for 27 years and has four children. In his off time, he enjoys camping, skiing and volunteering in the community. Remember this is a Brown Bag Luncheon – you bring a sandwich and we will provide the beverages.  An RSVP to jhartley@bernco.gov is appreciated but not required.   Please feel free to share with your friends, neighbors and association memberships.   I look forward to seeing you on April 20th!
