My name is Natalie, and I'm helping to coordinate a Mobile Farmers' Market, a farmer’s market on wheels, which provides Albuquerque’s International District and South Valley with healthy, affordable, organically grown fruits and vegetables, and educational resources for how to prepare the market’s offerings in cost-effective, delicious and easy ways. Between June 6 and October 25, the Mobile Farmers’ Market will make Monday stops in the International District (UNM SE Heights Clinic, First Nations & Van Buren Middle School) and Tuesdays in the South Valley (PMG Isleta, First Choice Community Healthsource & Los Padillas Community Center).
This effort is part of the Healthy Here initiative that includes Presbyterian Healthcare Services, Bernalillo County Community Health Council and 14 other community partners. This year, we are excited to accept all forms of payment, including WIC and Senior Farmers’ Market Checks, SNAP/EBT and Double Up Food Bucks (get twice as much produce for the same price).
