Watch for Avenue Banners along Central Ave. in the Int'l District

Inspired by over 100 writings & drawings from residents of the ID, these bright avenue banners (between Louisiana & Wyoming) tell drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, "This is our ID."  Look for the banners to be installed by PNM in late May/early June. This Artful Life placemaking project has been generously supported by the PNM Resources Foundation, with special thanks to Kei & Molly Textiles. http://www.artful-life.org

2nd Annual Int'l District Health Fair: Saturday, June 4, 10-2

Parking, security, and shuttle services available at the Caravan East Night Club, 7605 Central NE.  Info: www.id-healthfair.net.

Dallas & Bell
Art Garden Gets a Facelift

In 2014 community members in the Int'l District transformed a dirt lot, littered with trash, into a little art park open to all.  After 2 years the park is getting a facelift.  In June, stop by the NE corner of Dallas & Bell, in Trumbull Village, to see the results.  THANK YOU, NM Dept. of Forestry, Empire Land- scaping, Rey Garduno/ CABQ and nearby residents for making this possible. http://www.artful-life.org

After directing Littleglobe's "Stories of Rt. 66" project with residents of the Int'l District (and 8 years with the organization), Valerie Martinez founded Artful Life on June 12, 2015 and now houses its arts and community development projects in Albuquerque.

With the
Center of Southwest Culture as its 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, Artful Life continues to work with the Int'l District community  in addition to launching new projects in the Barelas and South Valley neighborhoods.

Visit our website to learn about these and
other projects that are utilizing collaborative art to transform our communities from the inside out. http://www.artful-life.org.

And check your Inbox for an upcoming invitation to a birthday party and celebration of the Avenue ID Banner project.  You're on the list!

If you'd like to give us a
birthday donation, we'd be happy to use your gift to support one or more of our projects:  http://www.artful-life.org/#!nature/mainPage.
