Subject: re Taking Central from Good to Great Meetings Invite

Hello,

I hope this note finds you well.

Councilor Davis and I wanted to extend an invitation for you to join us at one of the upcoming “Central Good to Great” meetings, to discuss how we continue to move the Central Corridor forward.

These should be interesting and productive meetings as they will flip the script from the usual set up where the City tells you what’s coming and asks for input; at these meetings the we want to hear what you have coming or would like to pursue.

According to the organizers, “This series of three sessions (come to one or more, as your time allows) will be a unique style of meeting that that engages people who want to get things done. It asks people to come with what they want to create, not to share opinions for others to implement.  It works, in part, because each of the co-conveners listed invites people they think will be most interested. And the process leads to outcomes faster than any almost any other method.

Some people are planning to attend AND inviting others so they can have a specific break out conversation together and get work done to advance their own agendas. For example:

·         members of the Downtown Mainstreet program are inviting others to come to specifically talk about the Downtown/Old Town Connector

·         members of Healthy Places for NM are inviting people they work with to break out in a session to coordinate and leverage their public health efforts with TOD planning efforts in areas of mutual focus

In these ways organizations are inviting others to come together during this designed time to accelerate their own work or project idea!

So, whether you invite others with a purpose or just show up and see what topics others propose and join one of them, do plan to join us (and RSVPing helps us plan for how many to expect). And feel free to forward the invite (or the link to the invite http://bit.ly/1WLr5GI) to anyone else you think might be interested. “

The meetings are scheduled for:

  • Session I - Tuesday, June 21nd - 3:00pm-5:30pm  Epicenter (101 Central Ave NE at Broadway)
  • Session II - Thursday, June 23th - 6:30pm-9:00pm Highland Senior Center (131 Monroe St SE)
  • Session III - Saturday, July 9th - 9:30am-1:00pm Los Volcanes Senior Ctr (6500 Los Volcanes Rd NW)

I look forward to seeing you soon,

Sean
