The neighbors list has about 300 subscribers, and I have been told that many of
its posts are forwarded to other people's private distribution lists as well.  So the context you should think of is an auditorium with hundreds of people, mostly people you don't know and including local media looking for stories, and everyone has a microphone. When you post to the list, you are speaking into your microphone in this auditorium, not talking to a couple neighbors on the street in front of your house. And everything is recorded, and can be read, by anyone, on our public archive, so please think before you post.

When posts and responses start sounding like private conversations, you shouldn'
t send them to the entire neighbors list. Few subscribers want to hear such conversations, and you can have them without replying to the whole list.  As the moderator, I generally reject such posts, but sometimes it is hard to tell when a thread has diverged. My apologies in this case, where it has clearly gone too far.

Littering our Nob Hill neighborhood with ugly yellow signs that serve no purpose is criminal. Stop killing trees to make yellow signs.

I wish the STOP ART people would stop replacing the signs I go to some degree to tear down. These is the third time I have torn them down.
