Dear Friends:

I'd like to invite you to my next monthly neighborhood luncheon on Wednesday, August 24^th, noon-1:00pm, at the McKinley Community Center,3401 Monroe NE.

This month’s speaker is Terry Brunner, Member-Bernalillo County Urban Charter Commission and State Director-USDA Rural Development Office. Terry will explain the work of the Urban Charter Commission and discuss the recommendations that they will make to the Board of Commissioners.

In December 2015, the Bernalillo County Board of Commissioners created the Urban County Charter Commission for the purpose of crafting an Urban County Charter which will be on the November 8^th, General Election Ballot. If approved by the voters, the charter will give Bernalillo County home-rule powers matching Albuquerque’s, freeing the county from some state restrictions.

This is a Brown Bag lunch. You bring a sandwich and we will provide the beverages. An RSVP to jhartley@bernco.gov is appreciated but not required.
