ABC Comp Plan

City Council Review
The Comp Plan Update will be heard next by the City Council.  

The project team is expecting it to be introduced at the Council hearing on Oct. 17 and scheduled for its first hearing at the Land Use, Planning, and Zoning (LUPZ) committee on October 26. Please check the project website to confirm the scheduled meeting date, location, and time.

The Council's Land Use, Planning, and Zoning (LUPZ) committee meets at 5 p.m. in the Council Committee Room, 9th Floor, City HallYou are encouraged to attend the hearing and testify. 

An overview will be presented to the full Council at a study session on Monday, Oct. 17 from 3-4 p.m.  in the Vincent E. Griego Chambers in City Hall. Public testimony will not be taken at this time.

Parking below Civic Plaza will be validated for these meetings.

If the Oct. 26 LUPZ hearing is confirmed, written comments will be due by Friday, Oct. 21 to Crystal Ortega, clerk of the Council:

Redline Draft
Staff will post a redline draft on the project website by Wed, Oct. 19 to show changes based on recommended conditions of approval from the Environmental Planning Commission, which are available here.
City Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO)

The project team is working on a Consolidated Draft to incorporate public and staff comments from each of the Modules. We hope to post it on the project webpage by Thursday, Oct. 20


The digital draft as of August 2016 can be viewed or downloaded as a PDF here.  Hard copies are available for review at ABC Libraries and for check-out from the Planning Department by calling Carol Toffaleti at 505-924-3345.

Upcoming Meetings
There will be four public meetings to discuss and review the Consolidated Draft. 

Three of those meetings will be a general presentation and discussion. The daytime meeting on 10/27 will be an "Ask an Expert" session with one-on-one or small group discussions to answer questions about how proposed changes will affect your property or your neighborhood.

    • 1-2:30 pm, Alvarado Transportation Center, Transit Training Room
    • 6:30-8 pm, Don Newton/Taylor Ranch Community Center 
  • Thursday, October 27
    • 1-2:30 pm, Transportation Center, Transit Training Room - "Ask an Expert" - IDO Zoning Clinic
    • 6-7:30 pm, Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center

Staff holds office hours on Monday and Friday afternoons to discuss proposed changes with property owners or small groups. Please email abctoz@cabq.gov to set up an appointment.
