Does anyone you know if there are any plans for the National Night Out anywhere in Nob Hill, Tuesday, Aug 1?

Does anyone know of any Neighborhood Watch Programs in NH? Thanks for any info.

This is a program supported locally (and nationally) -
Celebrate National Night Out on the first Tuesday of August.

On the first Tuesday of August, neighborhoods throughout Albuquerque are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “National Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event.  National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Albuquerque Police Department (APD), APD Crime Prevention Unit and the Office of Neighborhood Coordination, will involve over 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.  In all, over 30 million people are expected to participate in "America’s Night Out Against Crime." NNO is being supported in part by the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance.

Nob Hill Friends, Our outreach this Thursday.

Who and What: The vast majority of Nob Hill houses were built before WWII and continue to convey the character of the pre-war period. Based on surveys in 1995 the Monte Vista and College View Historic District was listed in the NM Register of Cultural Places (1998). In 2001 it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Why: Learn how this took place as your neighborhood association screens an oral history interview with Ed Boles, one of the authors of the nomination to the state and national registers.

Then welcome Harvey Kaplan from the NM Historic Preservation Division discussing the NM tax credit program for renovation of historic structures. Over 40 homeowners in Nob Hill have received tax credits covering 50% of the cost of work like:

-roofing

-heating

-cooling

-water and sewer rehab

-electrical modernization

-and restoring wood floors

We hope to have people who have received the credit and people who want to learn how.

Harvey can address how to maintain your house’s historic character, possible registration of additional districts, and whatever you are curious about.
