Dear neighbors:
I wanted to alert you to a violent dog attack that took place at 6:30 this morning at 219 Richmond SE. My dog and I had just passed the 219 residence when two large dogs came running out of the gate and attacked my dog. Both dogs were bigger than my dog and
I was worried for my dog's life. Mr. Gonzales, the owner of the dogs, had a hard time separating his dogs from mine. My dog had to have an emergency surgery; she has multiple wounds, but having witnessed the magnitude of the fight, she is lucky to have come
out of it with only external wounds. It will take her several weeks to recover.
This is not the first instance of Mr. Gonzales's dogs attacking dogs that are being walked by the house. I remember a couple of years ago there was an incident where a dog was maimed by several of his dogs. Be careful when walking your dog by that house because
it appears that the gate is not always locked and the dogs are able to get away.
We have filed an official complaint with the city.
My dog is supposed to wear a T-shirt to have her wounds covered, so if anyone has a couple of old kid T-shirts, for maybe a 6-7 year-old that you do not mind getting rid of, please drop them off on the doorstep of 303 Richmond SE. We only have T-shirts that
would be too large for her and would have to be tied around her. Thank you.
