Community Safety Survey Seeking Input on Emergency Response Efforts
The Albuquerque Community Safety Department (ACS) will dispatch first responders to 911 calls with or without other first responders from the police and fire departments. Community Safety responders may have backgrounds as social workers, peer to peer support, clinicians, counselors, or similar fields. The public is asked to give their feedback about the role ACS should play in the City's emergency response efforts. The City is updating the Albuquerque Climate Action Plan and seeking community members to share their voices and shape Albuquerque’s climate vision. Illegal Dumping Partnership Encourages Safe Disposal of Unwanted Items
The Illegal Dumping Partnership is an initiative sponsored by the City of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, PNM, Albuquerque Public Schools (APS), AMAFCA, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), and other groups, encouraging residents to safely dispose of unwanted items at one of the City's convenience centers located throughout Bernalillo County. Illegal dumping is not only rude, it's against the law and is punishable by fines and possible jail time. To report illegal dumping, call 1-877-668-4769. You can also dispose of your trash at one of the following locations:

Downtown Public Safety ECHO Offers Resources for Businesses Dealing with Homeless Individuals
You're invited to join in this week's Downtown Public Safety ECHO Program virtual seminar, which offers resources for businesses dealing with homeless individuals during the pandemic. In addition to the challenges presented by the ongoing public health order, many Downtown businesses are dealing with homeless individuals using outside electrical outlets and outdoor furniture, and verbally assaulting outdoor diners. Dr. Nils Rosenbaum, Director of Behavioral Services with the Albuquerque Police Department's Crisis Intervention Division, will offer de-escalation techniques and other resources, so Zoom in this Thursday, August 13 at 1:00 p.m.:
