Dearest neighbors,

I'm writing to keep you updated about activities & offerings of our faith community. Everything is always an open-invitation to all.

First, we continue to livestream all of our worship services as we have been doing for about 2 years now. You can find them on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/montevistaabq) & on our YouTube channel (https://www.montevista.org/vistastream).

We are having an in-person World Communion Service this Sunday outside in our parking lot. You can read more about the service including all the safety precautions here: event on Facebook or event on Nextdoor.

Following the World Communion Service, we'll be having a Blessing of the Animals service, also outside in our parking lot. Again, you can read more about it here: event on Facebook or event on Nextdoor.

We continue with our weekly Children's Lessons with introductions to each lesson provided by our Children's Education Chairperson, Lisa O'Riley, posted to our Youtube channel: Arts & the Bible for K-5 playlist. Lisa is a retired APS music teacher. The lesson packets are uploaded to our website at: Vista Virtual Sunday School. Both are posted every Friday morning & will remain available to you. Each biblical lesson includes music, art, & activities for your child.

We also continue with our weekly Youth Online Resources provided by Rev. Cristine Warring, a member of MVCC who is a high school math teacher. She has worked with youth for 30 years as a teacher, youth pastor, & camp counselor. You can access her weekly postings here: Vista Youth Online Resources

Our online Book Study of Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" continues with weekly lectures posted each Wednesday morning and the subsequent Sunday afternoon Zoom discussion group recordings all posted here: Online Book Study. If you would like to get in on the discussion, let me know so you can receive the Zoom link. We spend about an hour together on Zoom each Sunday afternoon beginning at 3:00pm. This Sunday we will be discussing chapter 11.

Please let me know if you have any questions or thoughts that you'd like to share. Know that we keep you all in our prayers & are available to you as we seek to further build relationships and meet people where they/you are in life. If you have prayer concerns, know that you can share them with me either in confidence or for our congregation's prayer list. If you would like to visit with a pastor, know that I'm available to you. We know that Covid is a persistent challenge to many and we want to help ease the pain as much as possible.

Blessings,
Rev. Dawn
