Special Procedures for City Council Meeting on Monday, October 19, 2020
In response to the Governor’s declaration of a Public Health Emergency and ban on large public gatherings, the City Council meeting on Monday, October 19 at 3:00 p.m. will be held via Zoom video conference. Members of the public will have the ability to view the meeting through GOVTV on Comcast Channel 16, or to stream live on the GOVTV website at https://www.cabq.gov/culturalservices/govtv, or on YouTube at https://youtu.be/vG2rOajbUN0. The GOVTV live stream can be accessed at these addresses from most smartphones, tablets, or computers. The video recording of this and all past meetings of the City Council will also remain available for viewing at any time on the City’s website. Council Staff is available to help members of the public access pre-recorded Council meetings on-line at any time during normal business hours. Please call 768-3100 for assistance. The agenda for the meeting is posted on the City Council website at https://cabq.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx. The Council will take general public comment and comment on the meeting’s specific agenda items in verbal and written form via this link https://www.cabq.gov/co…/find-your-councilor/public-comments through 1:00 pm on Monday, October 19. The Council will take general public comment on any topic, including agenda items, from up to a maximum of 20 people, on a first-come first-serve basis. To provide real time verbal public comment over Zoom, participants must sign up for public comment at the link above. Written comments will be distributed to all Councilors for review in advance of the meeting.

 

Early Voting Happening Now Through October 31!
The Bernalillo County Clerk's Office has announced early voting through Saturday, October 31 at 18 locations throughout Albuquerque. These voting convenience center will be open Mondays through Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Voters can cast a ballot in person or hand-deliver their completed absentee  ballots to these locations. There is also same-day voter registration at seven (7) of these locations. Early voting is conducted in accordance with the state public health order designed to minimize the risk of COVID-19. Masks will be required for all voters and all polling employees, and social distancing protocols will be required. Completed absentee ballots can also be delivered to a secure drop box outside 1 Civic Plaza NW at 5th and Marquette Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The deadline for voters to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, October 20. The final day to mail a completed absentee ballot is Tuesday, October 27. After that hand delivery is recommended. Please visit BerncoVotes.org for additional information. Senior Citizens Can Schedule Rides for Early Voting and for Election Day
If you know a senior citizen who needs a ride to either vote early or to vote on Election Day, have them contact the Department of Senior Affairs! Senior Affairs is offering free rides to for senior citizens aged 50 and older for voting purposes. You must schedule a ride three (3) business days in advance for either early voting or for Election Day. To schedule a ride to vote, call (505) 764-6485. Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event This Saturday
The Department of Municipal Development, Solid Waste Management Department, Bernalillo County, and Advanced Chemical Transport (ACT) are sponsoring a free household hazardous waste collection event this Saturday, October 24 at Balloon Fiesta Park, East Parking Lot, 5000 Balloon Fiesta Parkway NE, between 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring their household hazardous waste on this drop-off day. NOTE: All participants must fill out the participant form and bring the attached completed form with you to the event. This is a necessary requirement to participate. This event will promote COVID-19 safe practices. Please make sure to wear a mask and stay in your vehicle at all times.
