| Thanksgiving Closures for the City of Albuquerque The City of Albuquerque will be closed on Thursday, November 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, with the vast majority of services not being available. There will not be trash or recycle pickup, there will be no bus or Sun Van service, and all libraries, community centers, senior centers, museums, and the 311 community call center will all be closed that day. Adoption center doors at these two locations are opening to the public Friday, November 26. Bring your family and find your purrfect match! To view our available pets, visit our www.cabq.gov/pets. Animal Welfare Department will waive the fee that is typically charged for adopting pets, while keeping all other adoption policies in place, including thorough match-making procedures and background checks. Each adoption will include spay or neuter, a microchip, required vaccinations, and one free initial vet visit.
