The public is invited to the 6th Annual Angel Tree Lighting this Thursday, December 16. A holiday Jingle and Mingle kicks off the event at 5:30 p.m. at Civic Plaza, and the tree lighting ceremony takes place at 6:00 p.m. This holiday tradition was initiated by late City Councilor Ken Sanchez and continues, honoring children who have been lost to violence and abuse. Hunger is sadly something that many individuals and families struggle with, and the VIC helps over 2,000 Veteran families with USDA-approved food boxes.each year.
