Alma’s Roach Bait
The "roach killer" is boric acid powder. Generally kid and pet safe as well as "environmentally safe". Available at True Value in the Not Nob Hill shops, Lomas @ San Mateo.

Alma’s Roach Bait

16 oz Boric Acid
1/2 cup Finely Chopped Onions
1/2 cup Sugar
1 cup Flour
Lard to hold it all together
Add Water to the consistency of clay

I crumble it up and spread in likely roach hangouts. Works great for me. No need to scorch the earth, or anything else.

Haven't seen much yet, but as someone else noted, they come up in warm weather.

While keeping food out of their path helps, it doesn't really discourage ~ someone else might have a correction for me, but I think they eat just about anything (ie, things that are non-food for us, as well as food).

Another thing to be mindful of is plumbing. Leaks in the water or sewer line are party places, great for condos and rearing many young :)

I'm nearby and nothing yet. But I went on a scorched earth campaign against them last season, so I expect far fewer. All it takes are a few warm days and they'll surface around here, normally.

Hi All:  Just wondering if others are noticing the same.  During the last week or so  the roaches have again made their appearance in my house.  I am trying to figure out what is going on.  No food for them so I don't see why they would become active.  Also, seems a little early for such activity.  Near Lomas and Carlisle.  Are any of you experiencing the same roach activity?  Thanks.
